PORT 365

Schedule Data Synchronization

Not all data needs to be updated daily. With PORT 365, you are able to set as many different schedules as needed to meet the reporting requirements of your business. PORT 365 opens the potential to schedule the frequency in which data is moved from Project Online to the reporting database. The PORT 365 schedule throttles the data synchronization, limiting each call to only what is needed.

PORT 365

Build Trending Reports using Job Schedules

Do you, like many of our customers, require reports that include trending of key project data over time? In the past, this has required custom table development to store and manage the trended data. PORT 365 includes trending tables out of the box. Trending is based on the defined schedule for that data entity. For example, if the data is being synchronized weekly, then the trending can be done based on weekly increments.

Port Reports

Custom Reporting Table that mimics the Project Server Reporting Database

The PORT 365 reporting database is consistent in table names and structure with the Project Server Reporting tables, leveraging as much of the existing design as possible. This underlying consistency allows you to easily transfer your report creation knowledge and use PORT 365.

Options for Reporting Database Deployment

PORT 365 synchronizes to any SQL Server installation, regardless of where it is deployed, providing you with the flexibility to deploy the solution that best suits your infrastructure and technology strategy. This includes a privately hosted database server, an internal server, or a SQL Server deployed on the Microsoft cloud in a Windows Azure server.

How it works:

A. Project Online: capture data in schedules (including custom fields), SharePoint lists, or timesheets.

B. PORT 365 synchronizes the data with a custom reporting database stored in SQL Server based on the schedules defined in the PORT Administration Portal.

C. Report developers create reports using SSRS, Excel, and other BI Tools. These reports are deployed back to Project Online as reports available in PWA.

Port Process

The end user gets the reports they need with the layout they want. They are able to drilldown in these reports, filter based on parameters, save the reports in PDF format and distribute the reports as needed.
