Challenge

Sanofi Pasteur’s North American IT Department needed to upgrade their project management tools from MS Project Central to MS Project Sever 2003. This migration was driven by a need to improve data integrity and streamline status reporting and data analysis.

Approach

Using the Microsoft Implementation Framework for EPM, Agora guided Sanofi Pasteur through the implementation of MS Project Server 2003 and the migration of existing project data into the new environment.

Solution

The new implementation provided the North American IT Department with one resource pool from which to draw resources for projects, consistent status and time reporting for the department and reliable usage and progress reporting for management. The implementation of templates and Project Guides also gave Sanofi Pasteur a consistent starting point for launching every project.

Impact

Sanofi is now able to capture and analyse project performance, resource usage and efficiency. Projects are all initiated using the same template to ensure consistency. The PMO is now capturing and analyzing key performance indicators using the data captured in Project Server. This data is helping to make them more effective in their resource deployment and project delivery.
